چکیده

* The work reported in this paper has been funded in part by the Cooperative Research Centres Program through the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet of the Commonwealth Government of Australia. Abstract Workflow technology has emerged as an appropriate platform for consolidating the distributed information resources of an enterprise, promoting interoperability across cross-platform systems and for providing a global view and understanding of business process models. However, the business processes that workflows represent, are dynamic by nature, that is, they encounter frequent and unavoidable changes. It is through this dynamism that organizations maintain their competitive edge. Workflow technology to date does not provide sufficient support for dynamically changing processes. Managing schema change of workflow processes with multiple active instances is a complex issue. In this paper, we present an analysis of workflow changes in relation to business process change, and present a classification of workflow changes that dictate the scope of the problem. Based on this classification we lay the foundation for a generic framework to support dynamically changing workflow processes.

Dynamic Frailty and Change Point Models for Recurrent Events Data

Abstract. We present a Bayesian analysis for recurrent events data using a nonhomogeneous mixed Poisson point process with a dynamic subject-specific frailty function and a dynamic baseline intensity func- tion. The dynamic subject-specific frailty employs a dynamic piecewise constant function with a known pre-specified grid and the baseline in- tensity uses an unknown grid for the piecewise ...

Dynamic Object Model and Adaptive Workflow

One of the problems with current workflow systems is their limited support for dynamic environments and evolving product and process models. A 1997 study of trends in workflow management concluded that exception handling (i.e., dynamically modifiable processes) and object-oriented views of workflow definitions deserve “serious attention” from researchers [Moh98]. But why are dynamic models so i...

Development of a New Dynamic Friction Model for Analytical Modeling of Elliptical Vibration Assisted Turning Process

A new dynamic friction model for modeling of elliptical vibration assisted turning (EVAT) was developed in this research. The periodic change of the friction force direction is known to be one of the most important causes of this phenomenon. In modeling of machining processes (including the EVAT process), static Coulomb friction model was employed by most of the researchers. Because of the peri...
